Privacy Policy

Your privacy is our priority. As an intermediary proxy service, our core ethos is ensuring that you can explore the internet safely without exposing your identity.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We fundamentally designed Check Url to be as stateless as possible:

  • No IP Tracking: We do not log your public IP address or associate it with the URLs you inspect.
  • No Account Requirement: You do not need to provide a name, email, or any personal details to use our core features.
  • No Invasive Cookies: We do not use third-party tracking cookies to follow you across the internet.

2. What We Process During a Request

When you submit a URL for analysis, our edge network and servers make outbound HTTP requests on your behalf.

  • Transient URL Data: The URL you submit is kept briefly in memory solely to execute the diagnostic trace, run security scans, and return the report UI.
  • Third-Party Integrations: The target URL or its hash may be securely queried against databases like Google Safe Browsing and VirusTotal to check for malware flags. Your IP is never sent to these APIs during this process.

3. Analytics & Diagnostics

We may collect aggregated, anonymized metrics to help us monitor server capacity, detect abuse or outages, and improve edge caching strategies. This data is strictly statistical (e.g., total URLs scanned per hour) and cannot be tied back to an individual user.

4. External Links Privacy

Our reports expose data retrieved directly from the URLs you submit (such as headers, content lengths, and HTTP status codes). While we fetch this securely, any interaction you make with third-party applications linked off our site (e.g. visiting a redirected link shown in our waterfall trace) is subject to the privacy policy of that specific application.

5. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, or if you need to report an issue, please reach out via our primary feedback channels or standard support mechanisms associated with Check Url.
